Our Work

Our mission is to help athletes not mislive by aiming them toward a flourishing life. We do this through three pillars of our work:

  • Teachings: We teach a foundational philosophy of life and a framework for thinking and living with awareness, intention, and purposeful movement.

  • Experiences: We create environments that shape character inwardly and express compassion outwardly — forming athletes through both reflection and service.

  • Pastoral Care: We walk with athletes through pivotal moments — injuries, transitions, and relational milestones — offering steady presence, wise guidance, and spiritual support.

Teachings

Wholehearted Sports provides teaching designed to form the inner life of athletes and high performers. Our teachings centers on three primary expressions:

1. A Philosophy of Life

We articulate a clear framework for cultivating a healthy soul. Athletes learn to evaluate their lives beyond performance — examining identity, integrity, relationships, and purpose — so success on the field does not outpace formation off it.

2. The AIM™ to Flourish Experience

Our flagship 40-day formation journey. AIM™ to Flourish equips athletes with a durable framework for awareness, intention, and decisive movement. It is not information transfer — it is embodied practice designed to move athletes from misliving to flourishing.

3. Chapel & Speaking Engagements

We teach in chapel settings, team environments, retreats, and leadership gatherings — integrating Scripture, philosophy, psychology, and lived experience. These teachings are clear, thoughtful, and aimed at strengthening conviction, character, and courage in everyday life.

Experiences

Growth happens in environments. Experiences move formation from theory to reality. We design intentional settings that shape athletes beyond the game.

Retreats & Offsites

We take athletes away from the noise and the constant grind so they can slow down, think clearly, and reset. These focused gatherings create space to rest, have honest conversations, strengthen relationships, and hear from trusted teachers and leaders who challenge and sharpen them. Athletes return grounded, refocused on God, and better prepared for the pressure they face.

Missions & Outreach

We take athletes out of their usual environment and into communities where they serve people in real, tangible ways. These experiences move them beyond performance and self-focus, helping them develop humility, compassion, and responsibility. As they give their time and strength for others, their character deepens and their perspective widens.

Pastoral Care

We provide pastoral care during defining seasons of an athlete’s life: injuries, career transitions (entering a team, being traded, or retiring), and major relational milestones such as dating, marriage, parenting, grief, and loss. In these moments of pressure and change, we offer consistent presence and grounded spiritual counsel so athletes can remain whole and continue to flourish.

Inside Our Teaching Framework

We offer teaching that forms the inner life — grounded in our Philosophy of Life and embodied through the AIM™ to Flourish Experience.

  • Philosophy of Life

    At Wholehearted Sports, we teach that performance cannot sustain a person. Talent may elevate an athlete for a season, but only a healthy soul sustains him for a lifetime.

    Everyone lives by a philosophy of life — whether intentionally formed or unconsciously absorbed. The question is whether it is strong enough to withstand pressure, success, failure, and time. We believe Scripture offers the most durable vision of human flourishing.

    Our Philosophy of Life is rooted in Genesis 2, where God first forms man, and fulfilled in the life of Jesus Christ. From this biblical foundation, we articulate four enduring pillars:

    Rest. Responsibility. Restraint. Relationships.

    Together, they form the architecture of a healthy soul. When aligned, an athlete can endure pressure without losing himself.

    As Dallas Willard wrote,

    “The most important thing in your life is not what you do; it’s who you become.”

    Our aim is not merely high-performing athletes, but wholehearted men and women formed for depth, endurance, and lasting impact.

  • AIM™ Experience

    AIM™ is our proprietary 40-day formation journey for athletes and high performers.

    Delivered over eight weeks (Monday–Friday), AIM™ equips men with a durable framework for thinking and living — helping them move from misliving to flourishing. This is not information transfer; it is embodied practice.

    Athletes journey in bands of 3–4 men, walking through a focused 40-day experience designed for real transformation.

    What it includes:

    Weekly video teachings

    Daily guided meditation and journaling

    A band of 3–4 men for shared reflection and accountability

    20–30 minutes per day

    AIM™ does not add more noise to your schedule — it redeems your time, sharpening how you think, decide, and live. Over 40 days, athletes learn to see clearly, live intentionally, and move decisively toward a wholehearted life.

Inside Our Pastoral Care

Every athlete faces defining moments—times when life doesn’t pause for the game. Injuries, life transitions, and relational milestones are not just events; they are crucibles. In these moments, a man can either be crushed by the pressure or dig deep and grow into the kind of person God is shaping him to be. Wholehearted Sports offers pastoral care so athletes don’t face these seasons alone. We provide presence, counsel, and spiritual guidance to help them remain whole and healthy, turning pivotal moments into opportunities for formation and flourishing.

We offer pastoral care specifically for pivotal moments that include: injuries, transitions (starting a career, being traded, or retiring), and relational milestones (dating, marriage, parenting, grief, and loss).

This care is expressed through chapel services, biblical counseling, premarital counseling, weddings, funerals, and baby dedications.
